Bankcard Empire Review
Merchant Maverick's Rating: (1 out of 5)

Last Updated: April 20th, 2010.
Overview:
It feels good to know when you're right.
On this 20th day of April, 2010, I'm updating the Bankcard Empire review. A review that I wrote back in November of 09'. If you were wise enough to do your research before working with Bankcard Empire, then you may have stumbled across this review. You may have also noticed that I gave Bankcard Empire a 1 out of 5 rating. A rating that if you would have considered, would have saved you a ton of headache and probably a great deal of money too.
Well, Bankcard Empire was raided by federal authorities just last week at their office in Phoenix Arizona. Read this news post to get more info about it.
I might sound a bit cocky in this post, but I think it does speak volumes for how important it is to do your research on a company before you decide to work with them. If I saved just one business owner from getting suckered into working with Bankcard Empire, then I think I did my job.

Parent/Partner Company:
Doesn't look like Bankcard Empire is a subsidiary of any other company.
Type:
Bankcard Empire states that they are a registered ISO/MSP of Visa and Mastercard, but I wasn't able to find them on the list.
Acquiring Bank(s) (Acquirer):
Unknown.
Payment Processor(s):
Unknown.

Trust Symbols:
The Bankcard Empire BBB profile has a "F" rating as of this review, with a whopping 391 complaints in the last 36-months.
Negative Reviews:
You can either ruin a whole day and read through the 60 RipOffReport complaints, or you can just take my word for it. Don't work with Bankcard Empire.
Common Complaints:
Too many to list.
Verifiable Testimonials/References:
None found.
Security/Privacy:
No on-site security features (i.e. McAfee, Security Metrics etc...).
Customer Service:
Have you worked with Bankcard Empire before? Feel free to leave us your review.
Contract Duration:
I never received a response from them in this regard, so I'm going to assume that they do lock you into a contract.
Cancellation Fee:
I'm also going to assume that they will charge you a cancellation fee ($100-$500) to close your account.
Interchange-Plus Pricing:
I'm not sure if they offer interchange-plus pricing, but since their rep didn't feel it was necessary to respond to me, I'm going to assume that they don't offer it. Their website doesn't mention anything of it either.
Seasonal Downtime:
Same thing applies here. I wasn't told if they offer seasonal downtime to their merchants, and their site makes no mention of it.
Product/Service Offering:
Retail (Credit/Debit), Internet (e-Commerce), eCheck, Terminals, Gift & Loyalty Cards.
Product/Service Specialty:
None.

You won’t find Bankcard Empire listed as an ISO for Visa/Mastercard. You need to look for Davidan Corporation which is the Corporation created by Leslie Spencer Mersky out of Delaware, and where David Merksy and Janice Mersky are the sole shareholders (Leslie Mersky and Danielle Mersky used to be on it, but dropped out when all the complaints started coming to light). They also have LAJOBEJO LLC as another of their units. After the name Davidan you will find http://www.bankcardempire.com. Davidan = DAVID Mersky and DANielle Merrie Mersky Ashrafi (the daughter).

Here you will find all the principles suspects in this operation, the property seized, and the phony names of their many business. The State of Arizona is listing that there was in excess of $79 MILLION dollars involved at this time. The whole Mersky family is listed. Property and vehicles seized, and 25 financial institution accounts were frozen.
