We signed up with Charge.com about a year ago (we have had less than $500 in credit card business for the YEAR). We had 4 months of no activity initially, then some small transactions the next couple of months then we were charged a PCI compliance fee of $180 - which was directly debited out of the owner's account!!! They did sent us a very confusing notice about said fee with a deadline that leads you to believe that you can avoid said fee by filling out a quiz. This is not the case. This is an ANNUAL FEE that if you pay it allows you to take a quiz to be complaint. Other than that, we were given a bunch of websites that would provide the compliance for "Free" which would also negate this fee, but I was unsuccessful in finding one of the list. They then later sent another notice about how the IRS isn't verifying our business and they now have to charge us another $26 a month fee. It got to the point where they were taking out to about 50% of our transactions, when we had some, and about $60 a month when we didn't have any. When we tried to cancel the service, we were re-routed to an answering service that "didn't know when anyone would be back in the office". We went back and forth with the sales managers voicemail for about 2 weeks, then finally a week after that managed to receive an email from someone telling us to fill out a form to cancel the service. Hopefully we won't run into the scam above, we were told no contract!. THIS IS A RIP OFF COMPANY DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!!
