Overview:
GoEmerchant is more of an "all-in-one" eCommerce solution than just a merchant service provider. They provide not only merchant accounts, but also shopping cart software and all the other bells and whistles that are required for doing business online, like an ssl certificate, web analytics and email & web hosting.
Usually, trying to offer that many different features can spread an MSP too thin causing customer service to suffer as a result. It doesn't seem like that's the case with GoEmerchant.
They hardly have any complaints filed against them, either on the BBB or on the web in general, and judging by the positive response I received from their past clients, they also have a great track record of keeping merchants happy over the long haul.
GoEmerchant doesn't have a cancellation fee or contract terms (read your contract), and they do offer both interchange-plus pricing and seasonal downtime for all you merchants that are affected by the seasons.
I can't see any reason why I wouldn't do business with these guys, matter of fact, I gave them a 5 out of 5...great company!

Trust Symbols:
Check out the GoEmerchant BBB profile here. They're an accredited BBB business and have an "A+" rating as of this review with only 1 complaint filed against them. Very good!
Negative Reviews:
There are only a couple negatives on ROR. Considering that these guys have been in business since 1995, that's excellent!
Common Complaints:
None.
Verifiable Testimonials/References:
There are about five testimonials listed on the GoEmerchant site. I was able to contact all of them, but only received a response from two merchants so far.
Both were still very happy with Go-E's service...good news!
Fyi, they also have a "featured clients" section on the site. I'll go ahead and contact some of those businesses to see if they're happy too.
Security/Privacy:
GoEmerchant is secured by both McAfee and Verisign.
Customer Service:
I personally haven't dealt with GoEmerchant, so if you have, please let us know. I've chatted with a few merchants that are working with Go-E, and they've all said the customer service was great. They were especially pleased with the late hours of operation.
Contract Duration:
No contract terms. Accounts are setup on a month-to-month basis.
Cancellation Fee:
No cancellation fee either (be sure to read your contract).
Interchange-Plus Pricing:
Interchange-plus is offered, but it seems that you have to meet a specific criteria. Usually anywhere between $50K to $100K monthly processing volume.
Seasonal Downtime:
GoEmerchant does offer seasonal downtime.
Product/Service Offering:
GoEmerchant is a full-service MSP, so you'll find all the typical merchant services, but they also offer eCommerce solutions as well. Including; Shopping Carts/Online Store Software, SSL Certificates and a Custom Payment Gateway.
They also have an iPhone Virtual Terminal app, and a Quickbooks Integrated Plugin.
I'm usually the type that likes simple ISO/MSPs. I don't like it when they try and dable in every corner of the market, but it looks like GoEmerchant is able to offer all these services without comprimising their level of customer service, so I say...keep it up.
Product/Service Specialty:
They don't really specialize in anything, but you can definitely tell that they're well equipped to handle full-scale eCommerce operations.
You could quite possibly have your shopping cart, ssl certificate, payment gateway and merchant account all under the same roof.
Don't forget to leave your review and rating in the comment section.

I am quite confused. It appears that GoEmerchant relies on First American Payment Systems, which appear to have lots and lots of complaints against them (not just against the resellers). So how can one be sure no to end with the same type of problems with GoEmerchant? … and how is this any different from the situation with Flagship Merchant Services and First Data processing system?

I am checking out internet merchant accounts and I was reading through your list. I decided to get more information on goemerchant. I don’t know how you rate them so high. Their website tells you next to zero about their terms and I tried using the live chat to get more information and it wasn’t available to answer questions.
In essence you have to sign up before you find out details of what you are signing up for. This is not good business. It makes you think they have something to hide.

I’ve got approved with this company for a merchant account. They charged me $49 dollars set up fee. Two days later they’ve canceled my account because I will have 30%-40% international transactions. Why they did not tell me before they set me up ? I have told them that I will have international transactions in my application and verbally. I’ve asked them to reimburse my set up fee, they said they can not, it is not refundable. What kind of business is it? Be careful working with this company, I would not recommend them.
