Meritus Payment Solutions Review
Merchant Maverick's Rating: (3 out of 5)

Last Updated: April 21st, 2010.
Overview:
Meritus Payment Solutions is too new of an ISO/MSP for me to write a very accurate review of them. They've only been around since 2008, so they don't have much of a historical footprint on the internet. As they grow, I'll keep tabs and update this review accordingly. In the meantime, let's look at what I hope to see from them in the future.
They definitely need to get some verifiable testimonials listed on their website. Full case studies would be even better, but a decent amount of testimonials should do the trick. A BBB profile would be nice to have too.
Adding Twitter & Facebook accounts, and possibly a blog or forum would help build some initial trust to kick things off. Having those social media channels is a great way to give your company a face, instead of just a name.
I'm gonna have to give them a 3 out of 5 until they meet some more of the Merchant Maverick's criteria.

Trust Symbols:
Meritus Payment Solutions doesn't have a BBB profile yet, but that's probably because they've only been around since 2008. I'll give them some time to put one together.
Negative Reviews:
For a company that's only been open for about two years, you'll be hard pressed to find any negative reviews on them. Most merchants that sign up with Meritus now, are gonna be the "guinea pigs" for the rest of us in the future.
To decrease your odds of signing up "blind," ask them for some references. That way you'll know that they have at least a few happy customers.
Common Complaints:
None found.
Verifiable Testimonials/References:
Meritus Payment Solutions doesn't have any verifiable testimonials on their site as of this review, but they've only been around since 2008, so I'll give them a pass for now. Hopefully they'll get some up soon.

I haven't had any experience with Meritus' customer service, so if you have, please let us know.

Undisclosed. Be sure to ask what their early-cancellation fee is before you sign up.

Interchange-plus pricing is offered, but depends on your business profile. Most ISOs want to be sure you're processing a certain amount per month, usually $50K-$100K, before they'll set you up with it.
Seasonal Downtime:
Seasonal downtime is also offered by Meritus. You'll be charged a $5/month statement fee during those inactive months.

Terrible Customer service. They are holding our funds for 10 months after we requested a cancellation. It takes a couple and sometimes more days for them to return a phone call or email. And also have not been able to provide us with reports on fees charged. Not Recommended
