Overview:
I was hesitant about writing a review for Sun State Merchant Services because they're so new. They've only been in business since 2008, so they really haven't had a chance to prove themselves much. I decided to give it the green light anyway though. Who knows, maybe what little info I did dig up, will help one of my readers out. I'll keep my eye on their progress, and update as necessary.
The age issue is probably my biggest concern with these guys, besides that, things look decent.
The owner of the company, who also happens to be the sales director, responded to my inquiry, which I must admit was pretty cool. But in all seriousness, what it really tells me is that I'm dealing with a smaller company. From a customer service stand-point, that's great. The smaller the ISO/MSP, the more time they can spend attending to my needs.
I'm obviously dissappointed with their lack of legitimate testimonials or social media profiles. I think that a great way to put your customer base at ease, especially if you're a newer company, is to show us some social proof of value. The best way to do that is to open your business up by allowing us to see if your other merchants are happy with your services.
I'm giving Sun State Merchant Services a 3.5 out of 5 for now.

I didn't find any negative reviews, but I was able to find some positive ones.

Verifiable Testimonials/References:
They have so many other things right, but when it comes to testimonials, they miss the mark. They provide us with the usual generic testimonials that can't be verified. I'm assuming it's because they're still pretty new. I'll give 'em a little time to fix this problem.
Security/Privacy:
No on-site security features (i.e. Verisign, TrustE, McAfee etc...). They do have a decent privacy policy.

I received a very quick response from the actual owner of the company, with an answer to all of my questions.
