Unibul Merchant Services Review

Merchant Maverick's Rating: (4 out of 5)

four-stars

Last Updated: April 28th, 2010.

Overview:
You can tell that Unibul Merchant Services is part of the new-age group of ISO/MSPs. They have a Facebook page, a Twitter account and a few blogs that they update regularly. They also have quite a few educational resources for you to sift through.

Unibul might be a little new to the game, but that's not really a bad thing. It means they understand what it means to do business in the online world, and hopefully, they'll act accordingly.

We won't know if they'll be an awesome company or just another average joe, until they've been in business for a few more years, but I say that if you chat with their reps, and they make you feel good, then go for it. Just make sure you negotiate terms in your favor, and you scrutinize your contract as much as you can.

They don't have a BBB profile, nor any on-site testimonials, but I'm sure they'll fix that soon enough...right Unibul?

I'm gonna give them a 4 out of 5 for now.

Trust Symbols:
Unibul doesn't have a BBB profile which is a bit disappointing, but they've only been around since 2007, so I'll give 'em a little time to get with the program.

Negative Reviews:
I couldn't find any negatives online, but as usual, I'll be keeping tabs on Unibul to see how they progress.

Common Complaints:
None.

Verifiable Testimonials/References:
No testimonials on the Unibul site. They have so many other things right, but not this. If I was them, I'd get some up as soon as possible.

Security/Privacy:
Their website used to be secured by Rapid SSL, but when I checked it during this update, the certificate was no longer valid.

Customer Service:
Haven't had a chance to deal with them personally, besides a couple back and forth emails. If you've worked with them, don't forget to give us an update below.

Contract Duration:
3-year contract term.

Cancellation Fee:
$250 early cancellation fee.

Interchange-Plus Pricing:
Unibul does offer interchange-plus pricing.

Seasonal Downtime:
They offer seasonal downtime as well. So, if your account doesn't process a transaction for that month, you'll only be charged the statement fee of $9.95, and the payment gateway fee (Orbital Gateway $9.95, Authorize.net Gateway $19.95). This is much better than most ISO/MSPs that'll charge a monthly minimum fee on top of the two.

Retail, e-Commerce, Mail Order/Telephone Order (MOTO), Wireless.

Product/Service Specialty:
None.
