The Marriott Bonvoy Premier Plus Business credit card is a newly-rebranded travel card from Chase. It’s a business credit card designed to reward spending at Marriott hotels, unsurprisingly enough!
The card’s biggest benefit: You’ll earn 6 points for every dollar spent at Marriott Rewards hotel, SPG hotels, and Ritz-Carlton hotels. Furthermore, you’ll get 4 points for every $1 spent on gas station, restaurant, shipping, internet, cable, and phone service purchases. Finally, you’ll earn 2 points per dollar on all other purchases.
Your points won’t expire so long as you make purchases on your credit card every 24 months.
There’s an additional benefit of significance: Spend $35,000 on purchases each account year, and you’ll enjoy Gold Elite status and the travel benefits that go along with said status. And even if you don’t hit this spending threshold, you’ll get Silver Elite status automatically.

In addition to the above, this Marriott business card comes with a host of travel benefits. The Free Night Award has a redemption value of up to 35,000 points.
Another Marriott rewards promotion geared towards travelers: Automatic Silver Elite status. Silver Elite status gives you a wide range of travel benefits, including weekend discounts, late checkout, a 20% bonus on your points with each stay, and a fifth night free when you book four nights or more.

As far as points expiration goes, Chase states the following policy:
Your points will not expire as long as you remain an active member in the Marriott Rewards Program. You remain active by doing one or more of the following during any 24-month period: (a) have an eligible stay at a participating property; (b) earn Rewards Points by using a Marriott Rewards Visa Credit Card for purchases (note that paying the credit card annual membership fee is not considered purchase activity); or (c) otherwise earn Rewards Points or miles in accordance with the Marriott Rewards Program terms and conditions.
The tl;dr version: Your points don’t expire as long as you make purchases on your credit card every 24 months.
Benefits
Marriott lists the following as benefits of this Chase Marriott rewards card:
- Get employee cards for no additional cost
- Purchase protection
- Baggage delay insurance
- Lost luggage reimbursement
- Trip delay reimbursement
- Complimentary Visa Concierge service
It’s no surprise that a Marriott business card’s benefits are going to be focused on travel perks. And remember, there are no foreign transaction fees.
Marriott Bonvoy Premier Business vs. Amex OPEN Business Platinum
If you’re looking for a business rewards card that carries similar benefits but which doesn’t effectively restrict you to using a certain brand’s hotels, the American Express Business Platinum lets you earn 5 points per dollar on flights and prepaid hotels booked through Amex’s travel website, and there are no restrictions on what hotel brand you can use. The card also comes with a host of other travel benefits for the business traveler. However, the Amex Business Platinum carries a $450/year annual fee, so you’ll need to use it quite a lot to enjoy the benefits.
Final Verdict
The Marriott Bonvoy Premier Business credit card is a great card for a specific subset of business travelers: People who intend to exclusively stay at Marriott, SPG, and Ritz-Carlton hotels. Those business travelers will earn lots of points in the course of their travels. These travelers will find it easy to earn Elite status upgrades to further increase their travel benefits.
The obvious limitation of this business card, however, is the fact that you’ll have to exclusively stick to Marriott/SPG/Rits-Carlton hotels. There are other business travel rewards cards that will see you earning points at similar rates and enjoying similar travel benefits, but without the limitation of sticking to certain brands of hotels.
