If you have a point of sale question, Elizabeth can answer it. I’d be willing to put all my money on that (don’t let me down Elizabeth!). The fact that she mentions the comradery and love she feels for the Merchant Maverick team is really a testament to how awesome a person she is. Elizabeth brings that love to her writing and it sure shows! Learn a little more about the lady behind the POS in her interview.

Name: Elizabeth Cranston
Title: Point of Sale Writer
Hometown: Canby, OR
Current city: Canby, OR

Education and background: I attended Clackamas Community College and earned my Associate of Arts Transfer degree and then graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English from George Fox University.

Merchant Maverick department/specialty: Point of Sale

How did you discover Merchant Maverick?: Through talking to another writer who used to work here.

Proudest professional moment: One of my moments of pride was being followed back on Twitter by one of the editors for Entrepreneur. We’ve exchanged several witty conversations since and it always makes me feel like I’m talking to a celebrity! (Oh how working for Merchant Maverick will change you!)

Favorite Merchant Maverick post/moment/opportunity: I would be remiss if I did not mention the fact that one of my favorite aspects of working for Merchant Maverick is the solid and understanding leadership that we have from above and the core support I feel from all of my surrounding co-workers. My favorite post is probably a blog post I wrote called Business Twitter 101: Setting up your Profile in 5 Steps. I put a lot of hard work into that post and am very proud of it.

What do you do when you’re not working for Merchant Maverick?: When I’m not participating in marathons (Netflix marathons, that is), I enjoy writing jokes, spending time with friends, and learning about new places, people, ideas, and things.

You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color are you and why?: Bottle of Sunshine Yellow, because if I could bottle the sun I would!

Favorite ‘90s song?: It’s a toss up between Killing Me Softly With His Song by the Fugees and No Scrubs by TLC.

Favorite midnight snack?: I don’t like eating at midnight.

What are three items on your bucket list?:
Learn how to waltz and salsa dance.
Go on an epic cross-country road trip living van life!
Fly an airplane.

Who would win in a fight between Spiderman and Batman?: The Batman! Du nu nu nu nu nu nu nu Du nu nu nu nu nu nu nu! Batman!

Mac or Windows?: Windows all the way baby!

If you could either become invisible whenever you wanted or be able to fly, which would you choose and why?: I would definitely want to be able to fly! I imagine that being able to soar above the earth with the wind rushing through your face would be pretty exhilarating. Besides, if you’re invisible you’d likely overheard things being said about you that were not very nice.

Elizabeth’s love for the sun matches her sunny disposition! We are so lucky to have her and even luckier that she can take an entire POS and break it down for us in one article. We’ll Netflix-marathon with you any day!

For more from Elizabeth, follow her on Twitter (the editor for Entrepreneur does!) or connect with her on LinkedIn.
