Big Sky Commerce Review

Merchant Maverick's Rating: (4.5 out of 5)

Last Updated: April 20th, 2010.

Overview:
Can you say "BIG SKY COMMERCE?" I just like the sound of that name. Makes me feel like they're gonna give me the world...sky's the limit!

Looks like Big Sky can put their money where their mouth, or should I say name, is. Great BBB rating, very minimal complaints, great testimonials, some good customer service and they've been around since 2003, so they're pretty experienced in what they do.

For those of you that run a seasonal business, you'll be happy to know that Big Sky does offer seasonal downtime, but only after your account has been active for 6-months or more. Trust me, if you run a travel business, or any other company that's affected by the seasons, you're going to want to minimize costs during the downturn. Big Sky allows you to do so.

The one-year contract duration is much shorter than the standard three-years that I've seen, which is definitely a plus.

I gave them a 4.5 out of 5 mainly because they're missing a few other things that I would have loved for them to have, like a blog, forum or some social media accounts (i.e. Facebook, Twitter etc...). Any of those would provide for a community to build around the Big Sky brand, which in my opinion is a win-win. From my experience in the credit card processing industry, you can run a legitimate business and make a decent profit at the same time, so it doesn't kill you to be a bit more transparent.

  1. I’ve been a Big Sky Commerce customer for about 3 years or so. They are awesome. Whenever I’ve had a question I get not only a fast response, but a friendly one. And to top it all off, every few months or so they actually call me to see if I have any questions or need any further help with the service.
