OnSIP Pricing
OnSIP has two pricing plans: Basic and Unlimited.
OnSIP Plans |
Price |
When To Use |
Basic |
$49.95/month per account |
Your business has a low call volume |
Unlimited |
$18.95/month per user |
You want unlimited calling for your business and have at least five users |
There are two things to note with OnSIP’s plans:
- The Basic plan does not include calling minutes. These are charged at the standard rate of 3.2 cents per minute.
- The Unlimited plan is priced per user and requires a minimum of five users.
Whether or not OnSIP is a good deal really depends on your business’s needs. A smaller business that makes and receives lots of calls but doesn’t have five users will find the Basic plan overpriced. Meanwhile, a business with numerous users and a larger budget may find the pricing of the Unlimited plan to be competitive.
In addition to the monthly subscription, OnSIP has various add-ons. These add-ons can very quickly increase your monthly bill, as there are charges for everything from call recording to E911.
While these pricing plans and options leave room for scalability and customization, the pricing may prove to be too much for the budgets of smaller businesses or businesses with fewer users. This is why we’ve given OnSIP a rating of 2.9/5 for pricing.

OnSIP Equipment
Unlike some of its competitors, OnSIP does not sell equipment. Instead, it refers users to its preferred distributor, VoIP Supply.
There is somewhat of a silver lining, though, as OnSIP will give you a $300 credit if you buy five or more phones from its recommended brands.
At the time of this writing, OnSIP also has a promo that allows new users to receive free desk phones when signing up five or more users on its Unlimited plan. To take advantage of this promotion, you must remain with the carrier for 24 months.
You can also bring your own SIP-enabled phones to use with your service. Additionally, OnSIP has desktop and mobile apps so you can make and receive calls and use other features on your smartphone or computer.
While we appreciate the promotions and the fact that you can bring your own devices, many of OnSIP’s competitors make it easy to purchase equipment without visiting a third-party vendor. We considered all of these factors when giving OnSIP an equipment score of 3.4/5.

Final Verdict: Is OnSIP Worth It?
Overall, we give OnSIP a score of 4.1 out of 5. OnSIP offers a good service. Its VoIP system has plenty of features, customer support is great, service is reliable, and you can easily customize and scale your system to fit the needs of your business.
The only major drawback we see is the pricing model. For some businesses, pricing is fair. For others, the cost of a monthly subscription, calling minutes, and add-on features may just be too much.
OnSIP is going to work best for larger businesses that have at least five users. The Unlimited plan has a low cost per user, and OnSIP’s promos help businesses save money on hardware.
Businesses that want a phone system but don’t make or receive many calls can also make OnSIP work, although there are plenty of other options on the market that are less expensive.
Smaller businesses with higher call volumes should look elsewhere. Businesses that don’t need advanced features may also find the system to be too overwhelming. If any of these circumstances apply to your business, compare your options before committing, starting with the best VoIP business systems.
